Howard brings with him over 27 years of professional Major League baseball experience, 5 years as a player and 22years as a professional scout. Howard was a former professional baseball player and a 8th round selection by the Milwaukee Brewers where he played 2 seasons before signing as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Howard also participated with the Los Angeles Dodgers Winter Work Outs in 1989 before injuring his elbow. Howard became a Professional Scout for San Diego Padres in 1992. In 1995 Howard signed a RHP Rickey Guttormson who became one of the few American born pitchers to throw a No-Hitter in Japan. Also with the Padres he evaluated and wrote scouting reports on then amateur players like Alex Rodriguez, Nomar Garciaparra and Jason Kendall, before being promoted to a Special Assignment Scout and Scouting Supervisor in1999 with the Cincinnati Reds. First year with the Reds Howard signed a first round pick, Left-Handed Pitcher Ty Howington for a million plus. During the time working with Cincinnati, Howard evaluated and wrote scouting reports on RHP Ryan Dempster, CF Jacoby Ellsbury and 2 time Cy Young Winner Timothy Linceocum. 2005 Howard signed a hard throwing Right-Handed Major League Pitcher Carlos Fisher. Howard scouted a year with the Cleveland Indians before working with the Major League Scouting Bureau as a Scouting Supervisor. Howard also worked as a Major League Baseball Scout School Instructor. In addition, Howard has trained and advised numerous baseball players and most have been drafted, earned scholarships or have extended their careers. Howard knows what scouts are looking for, what professional baseball teams look for, what requirements colleges need to offer scholarships. Howard is well connected, and brings a vast array of connections to professional baseball personnel and college coaches.
